Loading XP - Wont boot from CD

Hi Im trying to reload winodws xp on a friends PC. when i put the disk in it will say "press any key to boot from cd"... i try this and it just wont do anything (smash the keypad) andway, its a wireless keyboard so is that the route to my problem? Or will i need to use a boot disk, and then try to reload it? thanks

Simplest test is to plug in a standard PS2 keyboard & see if that works. Wireless kit is fine for Windows but useless in DOS etc. "I know that I'm mad, I've always been mad"
