Hi all!
I've got troubles getting my profile when I'm not connected to the network. I suppose this has to do with a roaming profile, but i'm not sure.
If this is the case, what I would like to do is to transfer the profile information to a local location so that it would load even if I'm not connected. Is this possible?
The user accounts show two profiles with the same name and different domains. One *seems* to be the local computer, the other *seems* to be the network. Should there really be two of them? The icons are different too, one has an earth, the other one a computer.
The best would be to have both local and roaming profiles, the latest in date being loaded upon login, and overwriting the older one. But this would be overkill, I don't really need to login on another machine than my own.
I hope this makes sense to someone.
Have a good one.

You can set your profile to be Local or Roaming; it can't be both.
Your profile shouldn't be showing two Domains unless you've actually at one time connected to a Domain other than the one you're connecting to now. Are you sure the profiles aren't showing a local and domain profile?
When you're connected with the one you want to use, look at the dates on the profiles under Documents and Settings. You should be able to determine which one is the current one.
Then, right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, User Profiles, Settings, highlight your profile in the list, Change Type, then change it to Local.

Hi Jennifer, and thanks for your help.
My problem is now solved, I was stupid enough to have two accounts sharing the same name. As you guessed.
I don't quite understand why windows would allow me to do that, by the way.
I remember now that I created a local account when a got the computer a while ago, and that was probably the account that was loaded when I wasn't on the network.Somehow, windows decided without prompting that it would load one of the accounts when on the network, and the other one when not on the network. The two accounts did not have the same password, and only the "local" account's password would work when not connected.
Anyway, I deleted the account that had the "computer" icon (compared to the earth icon), and got it running as i wanted.
Thanks for your time!
