unable to get past "load needed DLLs for kernal", this is on a thinkpad T41 with windows xp pro,
i have tried going into safe and booting from windows xp pro disc, still the same, just cant seem to get passed that message, when "press any key to boot from cd" comes up can hear it tryin g to read disc but nothing happens
What service pack are you running? Make sure that it's SP3. How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
Have previously tried to download sp3 couldnt! So operating system said sp2. However as said cant get past DLLs scenario now. I am not a whizz on this. Thks for much needed help so far
Without SP3, there isn't much else that you can do. Try to download it again. If it doesn't work try enabling windows updates. Maybe it will grab it. If you can get access to an FTP account, I can upload it. It's too big to email.

not sure if i am making myself clear, i am unable to get windows loaded in any form to download anything (inc sp3), as soon as boot is started after windows logo, the "load DLLs for kernal" comes up and nothing further, i have tried to re load windows cd and safe mode etc, i need to somehow re load missing files, thks
Did you try F8 to get to safe mode with networking? How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
