live mail stopped working

hi all ,
today live mail stopped working with the error message

Unable to send or receive messages for the mail.talktalk.net account. The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'mail.talktalk.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10051

i have done a scan and removed items that shouldnt have been there but still no luck with the live mail , its ok with my hotmail account but not my talktalk account and i have accessed my talktalk through their site so it is working , amy ideas what to do.
