Hi, I've repalced my old 98SE machine with a new Dell 8200 with XP. I plugged in the new computer to the Linksys and the internet access through my cable modem is fine. but I can't get the network to operate with my portable with 98 any thoughts?

Is your desktop working through the router and not your portable? see if the wirless card is grabbing an ip address. You may have the access point to only allow one client at a time.
