my LG CD-RW used to work fine in Win98SE however, not in XP.
connetion:
primary master: HDD
primary slave: CD-RW (on cable select)
Secondary master: CD-ROMin Win98SE I had to HAVE these settings set with DMATool so that I wont get buffer underrun errors (writting would fail N minutes after starting or at 99%):
UDMA: HDD
DMA: CD-RW
PIO: CD-ROMI've tried installing/reinstalling Easy CD Creator also tried all the updates to version 5.02.
currently in Device Manager, I tried playing with "IDE ATA/ATAPI controlers", and this is what I have:
Primary IDE Channel:
Device 0: Ultra DMA Mode 3
Device 1: PIOSecondary IDE Channel:
Device 0: PIOI cannot set Device 1 to DMA in Primary IDE Channel.
so what the heck is going on here?

install ASPI layers to your XP first then do the EZCD installation later. Try forceASPI, i use it everytime when i do a fresh XP install.
and try putting ur CDRW in the 2nd master. it will decrease your buffer underrun error.
if all if those doesn't work you may want to try alternative burning software such as NERO burning ROM. it has great support for most of the burners in the market.

I've Easy CD Creator 5.02. This link says not to use ASPI layer??
http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?filekey=aspichk.exe
do you have an links so that I could download ASPI?

I installed it, it does not work!!
After writing TOC, the buffer level is 1-0% and then my CD gets ejected with "track write error"..
