LG CDRW CED-8080B Prob With XP

I cannot write onto my LG CDRW CED-8080B. My OS is XP that I upgraded from ME. For some reason I can read but not write, I have Roxio ECDC 5.0 and have installed the update to 5.3 that supposedly has a fix for known probs in XP, but still no luck.
RecordNow MAX has a free 30 trial download. If it works, at least you'll know that the problem is software and not hardware: http://www.stompinc.com/trial/index.phtml?stp

There are two things you could try . . .
1) look at disabling the native Windows cd-burning service (access Services through the Administrative Tools icon in Control Panel, if using XP Pro), and just use the software that came with the burner.
2) - get rid of Roxio, and use Nero - if used both, and found that (even with the Roxio patches and updates) Nero was far more reliable. No coasters yet!!

You need to totally uninstall Roxio and then install it agin. This is because they use totally diffrent burn engines which is only picked up at install time.
