I have a Lexmark Z23 printer, WhenI load up the soft ware print 1,2, sometimes 3 pages then it quits, Tells me I do not have a Z23 connected to the computer, Please disconnect the present equipment and plug in a Z23. I am running Windows XP Professional, 500 Mhz Processor, 384 mega bytes ram........etc. I've visited the Microsoft sight, downloaded the plug and play upgrade, the microsoft version of the Z23 software, called Lexmark talked to them about the problem, they are sending me the discs for the software. Downloaded the driver from their site uninstalled, reinstalled.....etc. Still no go after 2,to 3 sheets. Once I thought it was fixed but the indicator in the bottom right hand corner did not increase the job progress like it's suppose to. Next page it locked up. Tech support said if it's loaded properly it should work. Well it doesn't. Everytime I try and print more than 2, or 3 pages I have to uninstall and reinstall just to print the project. I have 2, maybe 3 versions of software for this Z23 already, downloaded to discs.
Any suggestions????

I have seen the same thing.
If you power the printer off then back on it will continue to work. But that is a pain in the but.

You can also try this, It has worked on some computers.
*****************************************
Go into Device Manager to the Ports branch.
Double-click the LPT port your printer is on.
Go to the Port Settings tab and check "Use any interrupt assigned to the port."

Then print a test page. Hopefully it works for you too.

My printer is not hooked to my LPT port.
It's connected to my USB001 port.
I've tried the off _ on approach and all it does is spit out the sheet of paper it was printing too.

The Z23 does not work at all. It loudly annouces printing completed and you have a blank sheet of paper. I don't know if there is a conflict with XP or they are poor printers.

I have the SAME problem with a Lexmark Z42 Printer (fantastic printer) EXCEPT under Windows XP.

With both Lexmark and Microsoft being of no help anyone have any suggestions?
