I'm working on learning the Japanese keyboard layout. Last night I threw together a quick app that displays a random kana character, and you need to type the correct one, then it shows another. I also created 2 custom keyboard layouts that follow the JIS standard (one for hiragana, one for katakana [which I customized slightly, but for the better]) because I do not like the way the built-in XP one worked, I could never figure out how to switch to direct hiragana input, as opposed to IME. If anyone wants a copy of it just let me know, I can email it to you. Its very small but I found it useful. I can always explain it better if anybody is interested. I coded it in Visual Basic.NET by the way.
