Comment:

When I launch Excel 2000, it attempts to open all files in the Default file location automatically.

If I enabled this behavior, I did it by accident.

Is there a way to disable this behavior?

One work-around is to make the Default file location an empty folder. Another might be to reinstall Excel.

Thanks lurkswithin but that doesn't apply to Excel 2000.

The Default folder and the Alternate folder were the same folder. I made the Alternate folder different and the problem is now resolved.
