latest Java Cause delays in IE??

ever since I installed the latest version of Java on my PC. i seem to have these long delays when trying to open any IE windows. apparently it is doing some sort of check??.. i uninstalled it and IE works fine. but i need Java for some things. has anyone else had this issue and if so what is the resolve?? i am sure it is just a setting that is causing this. thanks..

OMG I have the same problem!!! The newest v of sun is making IE load so slow when I try to open it. At least I think it is Sun???

yeah it is the new java.. as i went and uninstalled it and then installed an older version and it works fine. i get the normal pop up tiem for a browser window. so i dunnowhat the deal is with it . but it sucks..

I am using Sun Java 5 Update 6 and it works just fine. Just as fine as the earlier versions that I uninstalled after installing the latest.
Does this latest version install Yahoo toolbar if you don't use the Custom install or am I thinking of something else?
