Hi all again I was wondering if there is a solution to removing my last name.You see when I click on my music or my pictures my first and last name show up C:\Documents and Settings\first-last\My Documents\My Music can I change this.Thank you all in advance.

If the first & last name is what you have used when you first installed XP, you cannot change it. It is forever used as the default account until you wipe clean Windows & start all over again. This is by design.

You could create a new account using just your first or last name....or a nickname or anything you want. Once the new account's created, login with it and then logoff and log back in as the administrator and copy the old user account info over to the new one.

All I've ever had to do is go to Control Panel/ User Accounts/ Change an account/ Pick an account to change/ Change user name

Did you try magic jelly bean? It is free and readily available.
I tried it but stopped short of actually changing the owner name, but it did appear it would work.
