Lap-Tops with no floppy drive

I am thinking of buying a lap-top and have noticed that a lot of the new ones come without a floppy drive. Programs like Ghost and Drive Image with create boot disks for floppy drives only. Question is how would I go with no floppy drive. Is there a way to do the same thing with the cd-rom.

You could buy an external floppy drive. I have heard that they are also being phased out of desktop computers.

They only come with cd or dvd variants now. I bought my dell at their outlet store and they included my external one. I would also recommend not getting one with less than 512 ram. I bumped mine to 768 and it now outruns my other unit with 512. Frank

Look for one with an optical drive and a spare modular bay, so you can use the bay for swappable floppy drive,second battery,hard drive or even another optical drive.

Use the CD RW to burn files on. Also, there is a new bootable usb at 528 to 1g it is the size of a lipstick case or less and plugs into the USB port. can be caried on your key chain!
