Hi,
I cannot shut down my laptop, instead Windows restarts!
I install all updates (SP1 and others) via Windows update, but the problem remains.
What should I do?Thank you all!

Are you using Easy CD Creator? If so, it's a known issue, there's a patch available here:
http://www.roxio.com
If you don't have any Roxio s/ware installed, then read up on this link for a solution:

Michael: some more ideas;
1. this behavior may occur if the driver installed for the video adapter is the incorrect version.
2. Advanced Power Management (APM) can cause this also.
click Start, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, Power Options, select 'Never'
under the Power Schemes tab, Restart.3. if still not getting a normal shutdown, try this registry tweak to get power off on shutdown;
first, set a restore point by clicking Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore.
click Start, Run, type: regedit
drill down to:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
click on the "Winlogon",
move to the right pane and right-click "PowerdownAfterShutdown" in the "Name" column,
select "Modify" in the pop-up box,
in the dialog box change "Value data" from 0 to 1.
Reboot.let us know what worked for you...
