Ok guys, heres a tricky one... I've got a laptop connected to an external powercase via USB-IDE powering and connecting an Aopen CRW9624. It worked fine under Win. 98...sortof... but now under XP, while it recognises it as a CD Rom drive, the lil *#$#er program doesn't want to recognise its hot burning capabilities. I've tried different CD drives inside, and even bought a specially made "external" all singing all dancing CDRW drive and still it just moseys on and wants to tell me its just a regular CD drive. Its driving me nuts! I've emailed Aopen and of course "Customer Service" is a farce. All my supposedly knowledeable friends know #*$@ and my dog has left me and Its 1 in the morning...pls help and I will b so grateful!!!
