Laptop will not boot up

My laptop out of the blue stoped booting up. It goes to the windows XP page, then goes black and back to the HP page, then keeps doign that without ever booting up. I tried this in the safe mode and in all modes ?? ANy suggestions ?

Go into the Bios and run a hard disk check and if Ok run the Ram check. If the H/D check fails and you see a #7 in the message your H/D is corrupt. If it is , a way around is to create two partitions and install the OS again.

THis my sound dumb, but how do i find the hard disk set up in the bios ? Im in there now and the tabs are Main/Security/Advanced/Tools/Exit but do not see anything about hard disk under those tabs ?

I did the HDD Self-Test..2 Minute Short Test and the Test Status said: Pass ? Im trying to find the RAM check now ?
