I am experiencing a problem on a friend's computer, where wireless networks cannot be viewed. It says that there are no available networks. It see the wireless card and says that it is working properly, but no wireless networks are available. even though on a separate computer I can see loads of networks and connect to some.

Check and see if there's a Wireless on/off button somewhere like above the keyboard.

I would venture to guess that some of the cause may be the type of card or adaptor that is installed on the computer. Like for my laptop using an PCMCIA wireless Adaptor, I have gotten no networks. Then another laptop with an internal wireless card, got plenty of networks.
