Hi, recently I purchased a Higrade laptop and ever since I have had it I get occasional problems when using the touchpad as listed below :
1) when using the touchpad sometimes the curser may stop for a couple of seconds then start working again.

2) Occasionally when trying to place the cursor on a specific object it will suddenly spring away from the object when I take my finger off.

These things don't happen all the time , just occasionally and as I have never had a Laptop before I don't know if this is a characteristic with touchpads. A few people I have spoken to says this is normal while others say it isn't. I returned the Laptop to Higrade and they said they couldn't find a problem so is this kind of erratic touchpad behaviour normal on Laptops?.

Many thanks in advance for your help and comments

No, it is only found in new users.

Turn down the sensitivity of the pad. Play around with the settings.

I said I had never owned a Laptop before, and not that I was a 'New user' and as someone that is not a 'New user' I have tried turning the touchpad sensitivity down, played with all the settings you could mention and downloaded the latest drivers which is why i'm asking the question.

Since you just purchased it, have you taken it back to your point of purchase and asked them if this is normal, abnormal or a user issue?
