Is it safe to connect a set of externally powered computer speakers (Cambridge Soundworks) to the mic jack on a TOshiba Satellite laptop ?
Thanx in advance for any help.

NO!
a mic jack is an input device whereas a set of speakers is an output device. You should have a headphone/audio out jack that will e black or green in colour. If you have it should be ok
