Laptop Shuts down for no reason

Product: Compaq M2000 Laptop

I've had my laptop for about 6-7 months, and all the sudden it just shuts down, i check for viruses, there is none. What you think it is?

If it just shut down with no warning, it's usually the PSU buttttt does this happen even when the laptop power is from the adapter rather than the battery? How did you acquire this laptop? Did you buy it brand new or as used?

its running on power cord, its new, i got it from bestbuy, it just start doing this 2day, it did it twice, im not sure if its gonna do it again or not, but if i does, i want to know what to do

Did you also buy the extended warranty from BB? Regardless do nothing. Return it for free repair either at BB or at Compaq depending on the warranty you have. I would first take it back to BB and demand they fix it.

I think you are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. You may have to deal with directly with Compaq rather than BB but try BB first. If no joy pull out the warranty and read it thoroughly for your rights. Compaq is a reputable manufacturer and they will be willing to work with you.

also check to see that it is not overheating...if I don't have mine proped on a book or something the fan underneith can get some fresh air, it shuts down

yeah it might be over heating, its not shuting off now cuz i gave it some air, so thats probably it
