I have a Toshiba Satellite 2400, winXP, my display screen is 14.1". My display adapter is a "S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC 1179" and the driver version is -> 6.13.10.1266

My screen resolution is set to 1024x768 and I want to change it to 800x600 because a lot of web content is for that. When I change it, it only shrinks the screen size. I've heard about laptop screen that can't change resolution. If anyone knows how it could be changed, please let me know.
thanks in advance

You can only change full screen resolution on a laptop if you disable tv out and external moitor out in the bios. You can re enable them just as easily later.
