Hello, I have a HP Compaq nx9110 laptop. Its running win xp. Recently after hooking up to a projector, my screen on the laptop is minimized. I tried to uninstall the ATI driver and run the computer on onboard video card. The screen went back to its large normal size. Then I tried to install the ATI driver again for my ATI 9000 mobility card. It works fine until you restart. When I restart it boots up fine, 2 seconds after desktop loads the screen flickers and goes about half the size of the screen again. I know if I reformat it might fix the problem, but I have too much good stuff on this laptop. Thanks for your help.
PS, I tried hitting the laptop "REFRESH SCREEN" button but it doesn’t work. When I play games on it its still only use’s half of my screen space and no matter if I change the resolution.
See if there is a bios setup that says something like expand display or something to that effect. You would need to access that setting when the system powers up. Usually F10 key but check with the owners manual or get it online at hp.com

Has nothing even close to what you said in the bios. It doesnt give me such things to change either. I am 99% sure it has to do something with windows. It has to be a sitting or an windows update remove or bad graphic driver or something like that. I just dont know what though.
