Laptop not connected to internet

Specs: Windows 7, Corei7 2,2GHz
My laptop (Acer Aspire 5750G) is having problems connecting to the internet. Until yesterday it worked fine but today it has no internet access. My personal computer is also connected to the internet via the same modem. I called my internet service provider but they told me that everything about my modem seems fine. I also tried switching the wires of the pc and laptop but still the laptop didn't connect to the internet. What do you think is the problem? Is it a hardware problem?

If your PC can connect to the internet then the problem is almost certainly not the modem. I take it that you connect wirelessly with your laptop? What happens when you try connecting using a cable (borrow the one from the PC). If it connects using a cable then you know the problem is with the wireless settings. What message do you get when you click on the 'network' icon, bottom right of the screen? If it says you have no connection, is your network name listed as being available? Can you see any networks? If you can see your network, and it is connected, but still no internet access then try using the Troubleshooter.

Try reinstalling the LAN driver.
