Laptop monitor going black when gaming, everything is still working i can hear sounds in the game and even other people talkin to me (Voice-ip) but the monitor doesn't work and the only way to get it back on is to reboot the computer and even with that it takes a few tries and sometimes i have to wait because it won't start up.

I'ved noticed letting my computer stay off helps, if i leave it off for the night i can play about 3hours before this starts happening again. I should also add that this laptop is over 2 years old.

Does it work for long when not gaming? Could be it is overheating Check to make sure the laptop cpu fan is working properly.

I have had overheat issues before but my computer would just shut off when that was the issue...can it really be overheating and just affect my monitor?

I wouldn't suspect so, but wanted to rule it out as overheating can create issues. My suspect is either the inverter or backlight lamp. You didn't respond if the pc works normally for long periods when not gaming.

Now my screen doesn't work at all so it definitely isn't an overheating issue
