I woke up this morning and found that my laptop was an hour behind on time. I restart and go into my BIOS and the time is an hour behind in there. I know this normally mean that the CMOS battery is going dead. Does laptops have CMOS batteries? If it is the CMOS battery how long do they normally last for I've had the laptop a year and one month. Thanks in advance.

Did it just start happening? Could it be daylight savings and it switch it automatically?
Yes laptops have CMOS batteries. Usually, the batteries last a good 3-5 years. If not, you just might have a used one.

I feel so much like a dunce. I forgot time goes back today. This is quite embarressing. Thanks for responding, however. Now I know that laptops do have CMOS batteries and they last 3-5 years. Thanks again. :)
