When I log on to my laptop it immediately logs off. I have tried to safe mode all possibilities, nothing has worked.

It was suggested I post my problem to the XP forum for help.

I have the XP Restore Disc & Drivers & Applications Restore Disc.

My concern is that I need much of the date stored on my infected computer. It is primarily in my docyments,

It sounds as though you are going to have to do a repair install.
There is a remote possibility that you could run userpasswords2 from a command prompt with an xp cd to boot without a password or reinstall the boot.ini file.

Post this in the xp forum and see if someone over there can help you do one of these. I am not fimilar enough with the procees to help you.

They will need to know if you have an xp cd or a manufactuers recovery cd.

I believe you will have to reinstall windows. If you do a 'Repair' install, you 'normally' will not lose any data. Hopefully you have a Microsoft WinXP CD. If you boot it up, and follow ijstructions, you will eventually get to a place where you can select a 'Repair Install'.
