When I log on to my laptop it immediately logs off. I have tried to safe mode all possibilities, nothing has worked.
It was suggested I post my problem to the XP forum for help.
I have the XP Restore Disc & Drivers & Applications Restore Disc.
My concern is that I need much of the date stored on my infected computer. It is primarily in my docyments,

It sounds as though you are going to have to do a repair install.
There is a remote possibility that you could run userpasswords2 from a command prompt with an xp cd to boot without a password or reinstall the boot.ini file.Post this in the xp forum and see if someone over there can help you do one of these. I am not fimilar enough with the procees to help you.
They will need to know if you have an xp cd or a manufactuers recovery cd.

No one else to my knowledge had access to my computer.
I do have a virus of some sort Downlaoder.Agent.uj
I was trying to get rid of this when this problem happened.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I believe you will have to reinstall windows. If you do a 'Repair' install, you 'normally' will not lose any data. Hopefully you have a Microsoft WinXP CD. If you boot it up, and follow ijstructions, you will eventually get to a place where you can select a 'Repair Install'.
