Its turns on after about 10 attempts but then it freezes again, there is an option to enter bios. Iv tried installing vista on another partion, then formatted the other partions which had Xp,but it still struggles to turn on and freezes. What do i do if i enter the bios.

"...but screen remains black..."

... ok its not "just" a black screen then, guessing you had a flashing cursor also ... so the screen works!

... try tapping <F8> @ bootup do you see any options? like "repair"

" Iv tried installing vista on another partion, then formatted the other partions which had Xp"

You need to put the laptop back to factory defaults.

The tack you chose, vista and format of the xp partition is what put the laptop in the present state.

Presently you have nothing to boot since you wiped out the boot xp partition.

If you think its the laptop video connect the laptop via vga port to a monitor.

Stilll doesn't undo your deleting your primary boot partition which is what you did when you deleted xp.

but keep hoping...

just remember this mantra 'factory restore - factory restore...'

... if you formatted the recovery partition you'll have problems

... take a look here also this

... there maybe a couple of keys to tap @ bootup for your "unknown" model of fijitsu siemens laptop different makes and models have different ones to invoke factory default recovery, take a look @ fijitsu siemens website for info before you do more damage!

unit is dead. you can't check ram or anything if it won't even turn on. contact siemens support or recycle it.

... errrrr....... good point "wanderer"

... it might be an idea to remove the ram and try it, some units have another stick elsewhere hidden like under the keyboard so it may start with perhaps the other removed (if exist).
