Laptop boots with External monitor as main

I use my lenovo R61 laptop setup as dual monitor setup with one external Dell monitor. I like the Laptop display to be the primary display when on the docking station. Everytime I boot up the laptop not on the docking station only using the laptop display, then when I boot it back up on the docking station it makes the external dell monitor the primary display. Everytime I have to go the the Nvidia Deskop manager and set the laptop display back as the primary display. Is there anyway to keep the laptop display always the primary screen?
