I purchased a brand new battery for my Dell CPX laptop computer. The old battery worked fine, but lost charge quickly. It also was able to charge up to 100%. The new battery will charge, but will not charge Past 32%. I cant figure it out. The battery fits and functions properly other than the above stated. Thanks in advance for any advice. -Scott

I've seen on laptops that you can "calibrate" a new battery so the laptop knows what % of charge the battery is at. Look in your laptops documentation or on Dell's website.

I have an Acer Ferrari 3000 running XP Pro. I have the same problem. My original battery had to be replaced. However, neither of the two new batteries (from Kahlon) will charge past 32% (and they really are not charged anyway.) I tried updating all drivers and BIOS. I tried reinstalling XP without SP2. I tried cleaning contacts with an eraser. I tried holding down the power button for 30 secs. I am ready to sacrifice small animals or virgins.... :-) Ideas? Thanks Patrick patrick at lestrade dot com
