I have an Acer Ferrari 4000 laptop... The Lan Status and Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 take about 2 mins to show up in the system tray... So obviously I can't use I.E.8 Till it shows up... I dissabled mostly everything in the start up using msconfig and also rand a full antivirus and maleware bytes scan... So I dont believe it's a virus or trogan making the comp lag... I tried finding an updated driver for the nic card, but I already have the lastest installed, which I actually uninstalled and reinstalled... But it's still the same... Any other suggestion... I have sp2 and planned on installing sp3 to see if that helps...

It is a security issue....one of your security apps is scanning the system on boot up and disconnects the NIC card till after the scan so as to help protect your computer.
