Hello there! really having issues at the moment trying to have internet sharing. When i try to enable internet sharing on the advanced tab of the wireless sharing at error box comes up,

"An error occured whilst internet connection sharing was being enabled (null)"

I don't know why because this has worked before. My LAN is enabled. I am connected to wireless, but need the LAN to connect to my xbox 360 via an ethernet..but i dont think its an issue with that but more computer settings?
My UPnP settings are enabled. and have contacted my router people (Zyxel) and they say its not an issue with my router. I can connect with an ethernet cable dirrectly into my router and that works..

My address type is assigned by DHCP and all IP assigned automatically.

My firewall is off- i know secruity issues..but this hasnt been changed since when internet sharing last worked!

I have come to a loose end and would appreciate any comments?

Check to see that the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing Service is started. Go to Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Scroll towards the bottom and make sure it says "Started" under the Status column.

So does the earth being made by a "big bang" actually make sense??

One of those pages says the following, but before you try it, ICS only works if the PC that is running the ICS is physically connected to a wall with a cable:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...

If you are set up like that diagram says, you can look at these:

Error Message:
An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The dependency service or group failed to start.
Translation:
A service needed by ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is not running.

Solution:
Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and click OK. To enable a service, find it in the right pane and double-click its entry. Be sure its Startup Type is set to Automatic and click OK. All the following services must be thus configured in order to use ICS:

Application Layer Gateway Service
Network Connections
Network Location Awareness (NLA)
Plug And Play
Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
Remote Access Connection Manager
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Telephony

After verifying and/or configuring Automatic startup for each of these services, close the Services window and restart the computer before attempting again to enable ICS.
