i'm looking for a solution to this problem.
i'm moving to another house and i'm not alowed to drill hole's into the wall so i would like to use somthing like this.

internet > server (for dhcp and other utilities) > Lan to switch > to all computers and devices

from the switch also to a WiFi router for notebook's

then i would like te set up an other wifi router as reciver on the other floor and use the lan ports for pc, printer, ... so just like to run the wifi router as a reciver and as switch ....

hope you know what i mean

Too complicated.

Internet( ADSL or Cable? ) Modem> Wireless Router ( Most have 4 ethernet ports )
The router does DHCP & NAT for your network, Both wired & Wireless. You can even get devices that combine both Modem & Router.

If more ethernet connections are needed you can add a switch in that location.

Then for the upstairs area you need a wireless bridge attached to a second switch for any wired devices. KISS principle applies.
