So we've got a small LAN set up. 4 computers, all running XP. We share a cable internet connection that comes in, hits the modem then hits a DLink router and splits up to the 4 machines.
Everything was working fine until Monday night. Sometime during the night, one of the computers seems to have lost connectivity. It's able to communicate with the 3 other computers without a problem. File/Print sharing works wonderfully, we can share files like it's going out of style.. but no internet.
The computer was running but unused during the time when it lost it's connection.
I released/renewed the IP and that seemed to go off without a problem. When poking around in the router I did find a log of a couple "Ping of death"s that night, but they'd happened once or twice previously and never caused a problem.
I trimmed down the programs loading at start, ran a sweep for both spyware and viruses and couldn't come up with anything.
I'm at a loss what to try next. The 3 others have no problem reaching the internet but this one doesn't even sniff it.
Thanks for any pointers y'all can give me.

Sometimes there is just a foul-up and something goes off key.

try this and see if it helps.

lurkswithin,
Downloaded and ran the program but still no internet after reboot.
I'm about at my wits end.
