Thought I would just drop in and say BOO! Seems Justin sold out along time ago and I never made it to 10 years of moderating the real Computing.Net which this is not anymore.

So sad to see the real Computing.Net is no more. I hope Justin was paid well.

I was the first moderator of Computing.Net and with the site from day one. After 8 years burnt out set in but it is still fun to read the old replies.

I hit the post preview and it still has my old sig. I'll leave it for old times sake.

KTTD: I don't know what the site was like when you were the moderator, so I cannot compare. However, I think it's still a very good site-and I see that Justin allowed you to post your opinion.

One more thing-you should really post your comments in the Lounge, and not the XP Forum.

So have a mod move it. There was no lounge back in the day.

LOL @ KTTD

Hey Kevin.....how is it hanging?

Been a while since I heard anything about you....or from you
You are right that it is not the same.....but CHANGE must happen...and not necessarily for the better but it still changes.

As for the site...it has definitely changed in the past 3 (?) years or so since you were here and it seems to be constantly regenerating itself...some for the better....some not.

While there are still a lot of the old ones still around...most have got discusted with the newest members and took off for better pastures....

I am still in contact with per, wombat, solarian and musky as we communicate quite frequently. Some of the other old timers pop in from time to time to add there thoughts as well.

Take care and I hope that all goes well with you!

Lurks

LOL. Skips right about that!

KTTD, I thought you bailed because of the changes? We lost several of the regular helpers after "Best Of Media" took over & started changing things.

Hey Kevin - It's good to see that ole KTTD flash on here again. I reckon your status as formative member allows you to post anywhere you please on this board.

I've supposed to have left but seem to have hit some will power problem that prevents me from keeping "totally" away. I guess it's like a drug or bad habit.

some other bloke...

The changes took place well after I left and as I said. After almost 8 years of being the primary mod burnt out set it. I was spending more time removing post than answering them.

Last night I wanted to see if the real Computing.Net was still around and sadly, it is not.

Nice to read some of you old farts are still around though. If anyone desires to keep in touch just send me an e-mail at KevinTheTechDude@gmail.com and we shall go from there.

Hey Kevin-Good to hear again. I bailed sometime ago for all your above stated reasons plus I refuse to give my time so a French co. can make money on my efforts. Take care and I may ctc you on the gmail addres I gave you back in the day when you said you wouldn't use it because it was tainted. LOL! As Lurks said, Musky, Lurks, Wombat and Solarian and I keep in touch almost daily.
Take care red-on-the-head. LOL!
PS. Hope your daughter is doing great. Getting big, huh!

Hey Kev!

It has been a while, Glad to hear from you.

I left not so much because of the new format, but too many "youngsters" with no experience giving erroneous advice and then jumping all over you if you dare correct them. Not worth the trouble. But I do miss the good old days of real computer help!

Have a good one!

G'day Kevin,

Hope you and your daughter are keeping well.

Post where you like mate. You earned the right to do that here.

To many tossers here for me now, that's why I do not post here any more...
