Comment:

I really screwed up by trying to download Kodak Easyshare via an online offer. It froze my computer, and consequently after having to shut it down totally, the uninstall was not downloaded. (I guess) Anyway, I couldn't uninstall, and was on the phone with the Kodak customer service agent for 92 minutes, with absolutely no resolution. When I tried to remove it from my programs, in the Control Panel, it would go immediately into "install mode" and then give me an error message. So, finally I did System Restore, and that took the icon off of my Programs list, but when I do a "Kodak search", 3 Driver Cache entries come up.
I want everything Kodak OFF my computer...can anyone help me to remove these? Should I? My computer skills are moderate.

thanks for the response, but I can't reinstall it...it freezes 3/4 of the way through. The customer service agent said that it's because I don't have enough space on my hard drive. (I have 256 MB, I thing it requires over 500?) So, aside from the "reinstall", there's nothing else that I can try?

download Ccleaner and use the registry cleaner to clean any remnents left in the registry.

After that is done open navigate to C:\program files\kodak and delete the folder!

If you only have 256MB space left on your hard drive, you have other problems besides just this one. Are you sure that 256MB isn't the amount of memory? The EasyShare software requires 512MB.

I ran CCleaner Registry Cleaner. I ran XP Repair Pro Registry Cleaner. I still get these 3 items, and when I go into the Program Files, as someone suggested, there's no Kodak files there. When I do a search, in the driver.cab, the 3 items are there, but I can't find anything that gives me a delete option. I get a Copy option, an Extract option, but that's it. I am going to try to attach a view of the screens.

Sounds like to OP has 256MB of RAM.

Normally, right clicking on a file name will give you list of options. One of those should be Delete.

thanks, guys. I installed Revo Uninstaller, and nothing Kodak shows up on the list!
I suppose I'll try to upgrade my memory, and go with the re-install and uninstall.
I really appreciate the help. Very kind of you all.

One thing I don't understand. If you originally wanted that software, why are you intent on removing it now? Why not install and use it.

Go to My Computer and look at the listing for your C drive. Should show the total space and what is free. Post those numbers.

I had a senior moment....I use Canon Zoombrowser for my photo software, and when Kodak sent the e-mail with the "upgrade to the version I was running", (that's what the e-mail said, and I assumed it was true....bad mistake) I automatically went to the download. Didn't read the agreement stuff, just blindly went ahead like some little sheep being led. When I tried to download, it froze everything about 3/4 of the way through. Nothing would unfreeze it....I finally had to turn the whole thing off with the Power button. Consequently, the whole program didn' download, and my guess is that the "uninstall" portion was missing. Even when I tried to use Kodak's Clear Utility, it wouldn't work...it would just freeze. So, I couldn't install it, and I couldn't uninstall it, and my computer started doing freaky things, like I couldn't log off, and it ws a snail's pace when I tried to surf. When I went into several chatrooms after searching Kodak, boy, did that program get slam-dunked. Oh what a fool I am.
So, to make a long response a bit longer, I thought I wanted it, but I was sadly mistaken, and now I don't want anything to do with Kodak.
Thanks for your time.

The 3 items you are finding may have absolutely nothing to do with the Easyshare software. I've never had Easyshare on this computer, yet a search reveals a number of files with "Kodak" in the name. Most of these are related to color profiles, and are associated with completely different programs.

In fact, if they are in the driver.cab (which is basically a zipped file) I can assure you that they weren't placed there by the Easyshare install.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

that sounds plausible. I do believe that with the help of all of you, I have thoroughly eliminated the software program and it's elements.
Thanks to all for sharing.
