Hi,
I have a Kodak DX 6490 Digital camera. I have taken videos with it and downloaded it to the PC as .MOV files. I've converted the files to AVI for video editing but the quality is bad! In Quicktime (as MOV files) the quality was perfect. According to the Kodak web-site, the camera has a movie resolution of 320x240 pixels and is 20fps. Is there a way to increase the quality of the videos? I want to make them into a DVD. I also have 2 copies of the files- 1 folder as MOV and the other as AVI folders.

If you converted the MOV files to AVI, that `might' be the problem. Can you import the movies to AVI instead of MOV?
I don't know of a way to use MOV files for DVDs. Maybe someone else does.

The quality and resolution of movie files created with a still cameras are horrible. I don't mean to question your vision but I don't see how you can say the mov file looked perfect. You can convert it to an MPEG2 video type which is what DVD uses but the quality is just going to be horrendous. And no, you aren't going to be able improve the quality.
Anyway if you want to give it a try, look here for converters - http://www.videohelp.com/tools
