For some unknown reason, my Outlook XP often comes back (after I shut it) with a notice about whether or not I should send an error report to Microsoft and offers to restart Outlook. Other than this, my Outlook XP works just fine with XP Prof. How do I kill these bothersome notices?

I had the same problem and found that with WinFax 10 pro installed and with the integration of the winfax mailboxes, having them viewable in Outlook XP Pro, caused this problem.
In your folder list in Outlook, if there are any extra mailboxes, toward the bottom, remove them, by right clicking on the first entry and then remove, or go into the email accounts and on the settings screen, toward the bottom there is a button that says New Outlook Data File, click that and select only the personal folder and then ok, should fix the problem.

To turn of the Error Reporting, right-click on My Computer, select properties. The select the "Advanced" Tab. You will notice a button at the lower right-hand side of the window labeled "Error Reporting". Click this and select the radio button option for "Disable Error Reporting"
