keyboards b,n,@ not working

Specs: Windows XP, celeron, 512 mb
my keyboards b,n,@,.. keys not working
is it essential to buy a new ketboard?

You can probably dis-assemble the keyboard and attempt to clean the contact pad to restore function to the troublesome keys. If it doesn't work you are no worse off than now.

Remove the keys and check to make sure nothing is under them. I once had a small piece of a Dorito stuck under my "S" Key.

Also, buy a can of duster and use that to spray out all the dust and other crumbs.

Try the alt-number way to input a key. If it fails then the motherboard is bad.

press and hold the alt key. type 99 on the keypad. if it prints a b then you may need a new keyboard if it can't be cleaned.

well, thnx for all d comments. have opened my kb several times. no probs found. now using alt keys.
