I have just recently acquired an refurbished Packard Bell laptop. It is configured with Windows XP. I have found that the Keyboard will type wrong characters. I have checked a little bit in the Control Panel under the Keyboard selection, but everything appears to be fine. It does not appear to have affected the entire keyboard, but many of the keys types wrong some keyes type number for example when i type U it type the number 4 that look that i have up the shift and Fn. Please provide any suggestions. Thanks.

The keyboard is defective. You can't fix that, well not easily. Contact who you bought it from for a return. If you can't then you need to hookup a regular keyboard for it to work.

Sounds like your Num Lock is on. Hold down your Fn key and depress the function key that turns your numeric keypad on and off. It is F11 on my laptop but yours may be different.
