Specs: Windows XP
My wireless hp keyboard suddenly types several letters when you hit a key. This started after I ran virus scan with EZ Armor Security Software. I also have a problem with a ps2 compaq board that I tried to check out what was wrong, keys work but space bar and delete do not. I have unistalled the keyboard drivers in safe mode and reinstalled drivers downloaded from hp. Nothing was spilt on key board when it started failing.

Just like anything else....a keyboard can go out. There are over 100 keys on most and that means that there are at the least that many different resons as to why they go bad.

Make sure that your computer is clean and free from malware/spyware/virus/worms and the like. Change the drivers (update them)

You can also do the most basic of things.
I also have a wireless keyboard and its been once or twice that my keyboard acts retarded.
Usually this means that the connection from the hub thats actually physically connected to your computer, and the keyboard itself, are getting a bad connection.
Its wireless and so, make sure you place that hub close or as close as you can to your keyboard.
Another thing, check the batteries in both units. One of them or both could have bad batteries.
