So my brother comes to me last night and tells me that his keyboard on his laptop won't work anymore. So i go up there and find basically all the buttons on the whole laptop don't work. Well i updated drivers and all that and that didn't work. I ran adaware/spyware/virus scans which came up with a bunch of things and cleaned them and still had problems. So i loaded it in safe mode noticing at the start up the keys work and also in safe mode the keys work. So I plugged in my parents usb keyboard turned off the computer and turned it back on and that keyboard didnt even work. So i saw nothing else to do but reformat his hard drive figuring it was something wrong with his system. I got done reformatting and started going through the start up and the keys still didn't work. I'm at a loss to know whats going on. It's not from a virus, It's not faulty drivers, it's not a loose connection i dont know what else there is. PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks,
Bryce

Two things.
One is the built in keyboard and the other is the usb.
Built in you should have tested it to see if you could access bios. Now if you can't then you should suspect some issue with the keyboard or motherboard.
If you could access the bios then to get usb support you might have to enable usb keyboard or legacy support in bios.
I would have also tried a bootable dos floppy or other bootable CD/DVD to run a keyboard test WAY, way way before a reload of the OS>
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
