Hi,

Whenever I load up into Windows my keyboard never works. I press the delete button at the start and it manages to go into BIOS fine. However in windows it does not work at all. The only way i have found out how to get it working so far is to uninstall it then reinstall it. This works but next time i reboot the computer i have to do the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have the latest version of BIOS for my motherboard. I also emailed my motherboard manufacturer but they never replied. Any more suggestions?

What drivers are you using? Try the standard 102/102 key drivers. If you already are using them, see if you keyboard has special drivers.

Yes i am usung the standard 101/102 key drivers. I looked for drivers on the internet for my keyboard but couldn't find any. I have found out something though. When i load Windows it and go to control panel it says "This device cannot start (code 10) i have done the windows trouble shooter but that was no help.

I got a feeling you have an irq conflict somewhere.

Go to your device manager and highlight the computer icon it should say something like

acpi compliant?

Go to update drivers then say no I will choose them from a list.

When it gets to that point select standard pc.

XP will repair the hal file and remove the acpi settings.

Reboot and see if you can use keyboard.

But, first check in your bios to make sure you did have acpi enabled anyways. It should be under power management. Also make sure you do not have legacy usb keyboard support enabled. If you do, disable it and reboot before doing the above suggestion.

Good Luck

I tried what you said and unfortunatly it didn't work. I have, however, discovered the reason it's not working. My keyboard is ps/2 and my mouse is USB. When i disable USB mouse support in BIOS the keyboard works fine. The annoying thing is though i want that enabled because then i can connect my mouse to the USB port. Can you suggest any reason why it is not working when i enable usb mouse support?

Thanks
