Comment:

When resuming from hibernation I get the following Blue Screen:

KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR
win32k.sys

STOP 0x000000 7A

Any ideas? It worked just fine until I came back from holiday and wanted to use hibernation again. I don't have a virus. The only changes I made is when I plugged my PC in again, I moved the USB devices around into other plugs, but they all work fine. (I've tested them)

Not sure what the error is exactly, but from my work experience I can tell you that using Hibernation tends to cause a lot of problems. If I were you I would disable this feature and just use screensavers and the power button.

I've been using Hibernation on this machine a long time and it would be a shame to stop using it. Anyways, thanks for replying,

Joe,

The error message you received has nothing to do with Hibernation. Please check out the following link to troubleshoot the cause

Thanks for replying. Interesting. Sounds very complicated too me. The solutions that are provided are a bit vague and general but I will have to check on all those. Thanks!

Not according to the link I provided above. I found this link based on the error message you posted Why not try use it to isolate the cause?

Joe,

In Post 4 above, you said the troubleshooting advices "sounds very complicated to me." This gives me the feeling that you'd be better off having someone you know - perhaps a Certified A+ technician - to do it for you.

Trying to do it yourself may only make the problem bigger than what it is.

Sorry about that.

Hmm, true. Maybe! I did discover however, just my chance that my HD was set to IDE Primary Slave. Now I set the jumper correctly, and this time it did not crash when resuming. I hope it will stay that way.

Joe -

I hope that does it. But if it recurs, you're not the only one having this problem. Take a look here http://forum.mvps.org/viewtopic.php?t=3555
