Hey,

Thanks for letting me know. I have fixed the issue. What it was is that specific URL you were entering had dashes in exactly the right place to look like a Windows product key. Now it will work:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...

See?

Thanks,
Justin

XpUser, I know your question was directed to Justin, but for what it's worth, I'll mention that I am seeing no change in the way messages are displayed.

Perhaps you held CTRL and scrolled (zooming in browser) at the same time at some point? Sometimes it can be the small simple things that can nab even the most experienced user.

I am not happy the posts get out of order.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

I've been having an issue with the box not showing up around the individual responses. Also, the text has changed in the reply box I'm typing in...it's gone bold & is a smaller font. I thought it might just be a problem with the computer at work but I'm home now & it's happening here as well. I tried running CCleaner then logging back in & also rebooted but it's still the same. If it makes a difference, I use IE6 at work & IE7 at home. Are these changes by design or is there a problem?

EDIT: the box has reappeared around the responses but the fonts in this Edit Post box are also bold & small.

Yes, it's really screwy.

Should have never sold out to Tom's Hardware. Nothing but problems since.

Who in their right mind would ever need more than 640K of RAM!?

I was also missing the box around each post and the header for each post was black text on white background instead of white text on a blue background. The font size seemed to be OK though.

In my case, after deleting temporary internet files and cookies, all posts were again displayed in the familiar format. Not sure which of the two corrected the problem as I deleted both at the same time.

Not sure if this will help others, but it's easy enough to try...

Sorry, I misread jam's reply. I didn't realize he was referring to the font in the box where you type your reply. Mine is also smaller than it used to be and bold. --Not a complaint, just wanted to confirm that I have the same symptom in case it helps solve a problem...

Thanks for a great site!

I'm glad it ain't just me.

I suggested to Justin a long time ago that he might offer a ad/crap free interface to anyone willing to subscribe and pay a fee. I would.

Hey,

I changed the stylesheets, all you should have to do is hold down control and hit reload (F5). This wasn't suggested by anyone at Tom's Hardware. I wanted to give it a more modern design and get rid of some of the tables. This will make every page smaller and faster to load.

Hey,

I have taken off the bold font style in the forms. Hold control and hit F5 to see the new styles.

jefro,

If you want the posts to remain in the old order, go to your My Computing.Net settings and check the box that says: "Order forum posts by when they were last created."

TY Justin - I can see that now - the font is still small but it is a bit easier to read & type without the bold type.

Hey,

I don't think the font is any smaller than it was before. Its been pretty small for a long time. I just added more spacing to it.
