I will be as specific as I possibly can: I Recently installed a second hard drive into my system, and reformatted both hard drives. The old one had win xp home, and I recently bought professional version, So I finished installing xp pro and my sound won't work, so, I went to Control panel->Sounds speech and audio devices->sounds and audio devices. and in the voulume tab of the sounds and audio devices properties, it says "No audio device" soo, I figured that this might be a driver problem, so I went to My Computer->properties->Hardware->device manager, and went down to the Other devices, and there is a big yellow question mark there under which my, Multimedia audio controller and universal serial bus have the question mark and when I click on it it says "drivers are not installed for this device" so I click on install drivers, or update drivers and I click next etc. . .and it says "Cannot Install hardware because the wizard cannot find the neccesary driver" So I went to Gateway (the company where I got my computer from) and they said that I had a driver issue, and they gave me a link to download the driver for Creative SB Audigy, which is NOT listed under sound video and game controllers so I downloaded that and installed it and i went to the devices again and tried to update/install driver (after I restarted of course) and still it did not work, so I noticed that in the device manager under sound video and game controllers, it said "Legacy Audio drivers" so my question is? What dirvers do I need? and how/where can I get them, Or do I have to just get a new sound card altogether?

Thank you for your help

Hey
Put the drivers you got from Gateway into a folder you can easily get to.
Then open device manager and delete all drivers you now have installed.
Reboot! The system should find the new hardware and then direct it to the folder with the drivers.
If it don't auto detect, use add new hardware wizard and direct it to that folder.
The main thing is you need to remove the legacy drivers so it can find the new ones.
