CPU/Ram: 2G, 256Mb

My WinXP machines on the same LAN have the same problem. The cursor jumps, turns to hourglass, flicks about every 10-15 sec. It happens only in Windows Explorer and not in any other application. It's does not hurt but annoying.
Does anybody know why and how to fix it?
