.jpg's arrive as .dat files

Does anyone know why when I send a jpg to people it arrives as a .dat file instead of an image? If you try opening it in IE, it's all just text. Thanks
If you still want to be able to set rich text emails without this problem, I suggest ditching outlook express in favour of another free email client such as mozilla thunderbird.
