The file on the desktop that saids "LOOK AT THIS FILE" all jpegs show up as that even the wallpaper in display properties the jpeg ones show up as that but the bitmaps are good. Im not sure what happened here. I did have some program from google installed for editing pictures i think it came in google pack. I have removed them.

You had better do at least one of two things:

1 - Explain what you "think" is wrong with your JPEGs
2 - Correct that imageshack upload (again), 'cause that is just a Thumbnail of the original

It is is possible there is absolutely nothing wrong with your JPEGs...

What the ?? The first time I looked at your Upload from Post #2, it WAS just a thumnail, and there was only one paragraph... (I better have a drink...hold the eggnog)

The 2nd para I just saw, and the larger uploaded image file point to your wondering about why your jpeg icons no longer appear as "associated" to a particular program -- you just told us you un-installed it, so that stands to reason.

Associate (Always use this program to open files of this type) to a graphics viewer of your choice. It "may" take a re-boot to refresh/update the iconcache file.

In have rebooted several times . . .
Right, but did you associate the file with something first?

[Shift-?]Right-click on the file, locate the Open With
-> Choose Program. In the dialog box that opens, make sure the checkbox at the bottom is checked, then select whatever program you want to use for your JPEGs.
