What is the opinion of downloading the Sun Java runtime vs. Microsoft virtual machine. Maybe these two have different purposes.

Dear friend,
As far as I know there is some dispute between Microsoft and sun microsystems on this issue and also microsoft has discontinued MJVM so it is not avaible for downloads but ofcourse you
can get the old MJVM from someone and also it is there as an integrated component of SP1;the JRE is available and regularly updated by sun microsystems current version is 1.4.1_02.I am using it and it's good

Microsoft and Sun Java are in the middle of a law suit. I have read that Microsoft will not allow the updates to include MJVM. I went to the following place to enble my VJM:

http://java.sun.com/getjava/manual.html

It works great!
