Java Problem

CPU/Ram: Pentium 4 3.0ghz

Whenever I try and download an install JAVA. I manage to download it perfectly but once it starts to install to my system it is ok for the first few installments but then hangs and I have to close the instalation, does anyone know what is causing this problem and how i could possibly solve it

I'm trying to download the Sun Microsystems JAVA 1.4.2_01 (build b06) hope this helps.
